Lake City DIRT
Lake City Downtown Improvement & Revitalization Team (DIRT) is dedicated to preserving and enhancing Lake City's downtown commercial district.
As an accredited Colorado Main Street community, Lake City DIRT follows a four-point approach to revitalization - economic restructuring, design, organization, and promotion.
The Design Committee works to improve historic Lake City through landscaping, historic preservation, boardwalk construction, beautification projects, and sponsorship of the Lake City Community Youth Corps. Find out more about the Youth Corps, view the draft downtown design plan, or see the progress of other design projects here.
The Economic Restructuring (ER) Committee works to improve the local business climate through a revolving loan program, workshops for business owners, studies and surveys. Read the Economic Feasibility Study, sign up for upcoming business events, or find out more about the Buy Local program and other ER projects here.
The Organization Committee organizes volunteers, recognition events, coordinates grant-writing & DIRT fund-raising activities such as product sales and special events. Purchase ornaments, consider virtual volunteer opportunities, review Annual Reports, 2011-2015 Strategic Plan, Work Plans or find out more about other Organization projects here.
The Promotion Committee sponsors promotional events and develops marketing materials to encourage folks to visit Historic Lake City. Find out more about the Lake City Uncorked Wine & Music Festival, the Third Street Market, History Month, and other events & projects of the Promotion Committee here.
All four committees work in partnership with each other and other community organizations to effectively revitalize and improve our community.
