The BGST (Baxter, Goss, Speake, and Turnbull) Band from Creede represents a blending of musical styles. Steve Baxter (guitar, mandolin, bass, vocal) brings the church and country flavor of Tennessee. John Goss (guitar, harmonica, vocal) names the Beatles as his major influence, so he loves melody and harmony. Tommy Speake (bass, guitar, mandolin) left Texas behind, but brought the blues with him. Originally from San Diego, Jim Turnbull (drums, percussion) brings solid rhythms that round out the ensemble for a rock solid sound that covers all the bases.

Blending dusty American grit with a worldly amalgam of global influences, Santa Fe-based duo Round Mountain presents a singular take on folk music that is both foreign and familiar. The multi-multi-instrumentalist band of brothers has traveled the globe absorbing bits and pieces of musical cultures, returning to filter them through their own sepia-toned Americana framework. Char and Robby Rothschild have been writing songs and singing together since they were kids harmonizing in the back of the family car. They live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they grew up, now with families of their own, yet their musical horizons are as broad as the world. They weave elements of world music into their original songs, providing both the comfort of the familiar with the excitement of the new. They themselves are family men as well as travelers, whose performances bridge folk and world genres. They play their original songs on a multitude of instruments from around the world, often playing several of those instruments at once. Their lyrics evoke family, giving listeners a path to access universal and rugged beauty conveyed by global traditional music.
Blue Recluse, featuring Shawntel Royale, plays a wide range of blues, rhythm and blues and soul music from the ‘40s to the present day and their music is made for dancing. This band is an electric blues lover’s dream, combined with a rhythm section and powerful, sultry vocals in the image of Etta James and Ike and Tina Turner. They are well known on the Front Range. Vocalist Shawntel Royale began her music career with Blue Recluse as its lead singer in Austin, Texas. The band was playing at the legendary Antone’s and was the regular opener at the Continental Club in Austin. In 2000, Royale relocated to Colorado and re-formed the Blue Recluse band. Her powerful vocal style reflects the soul of her musical heroes Koko Taylor, Etta James and Big Maybelle. Her performance will rock you with a unique blend of rare and classic songs as well as originals such as “Run Me Ragged”. Blue Recluse is Ernie Mose (drums), Christopher Hudson (bass), Mike Twarogowski (guitar), Shawntel Royale (vocals) and Scott Van Loo (keys).
A Lake City favorite is the tribute band Cash’d Out that channels Johnny Cash in about as close a manner to the real thing as it gets. How can you tell? Well, beyond critics having anointed Cash’d Out (Douglas Benson on vocals, Kevin Manuel on guitar, Ryan Thomas on bass and George Bernardo on drums) the “next best thing to Johnny Cash,” and the group having won four San Diego Music Awards for Best Tribute Band, the real proof lies in what members of Cash’s inner circle have said. “Cindy Cash came to a show, we made her cry,” explains front man and Cash impersonator Douglas Benson. Benson added that Cash producer Lou Robin has also been to several Cash’d Out shows, and claimed that if he closed his eyes it was like “going back in time.” Cash’d Out has played to over 1.2 million fans since forming in 2005. And those fans continually tell the group how grateful they are that Cash’d Out brings back memories of loved ones who once raised them on the music of Johnny Cash. The band’s live shows respectfully reference the late, great Man in Black's Sun Records and early Columbia era sound, combined with the energy of the classic multi-platinum live recordings from Folsom Prison and San Quentin.
Knight Groove is bringing its heavy back-beat and old school grooves to the Lake City Uncorked Wine & Music Festival. The soulful voice of Mahlon Knight, drummer and vocalist, leads the group through a wide range of funk, blues and improvisational adventures. Knight Groove is a 5-piece band that plays its unique style of funky originals and diverse covers. Heavily influenced by James Brown, the Allman Brothers, The Meters, Led Zeppelin and countless blues artists, Knight Groove brings its pocket groove style that never quits. Get your groove on!
Music provided between acts by Bruce Hayes who plays a fusion of the musical styles that combine acoustic and electric instruments with elements of rock, bluegrass, celtic, and R&B. Collaborating with The String Cheese Incident and Acoustic Junction, Hayes helped define the acoustic jam band sound. He continues this tradition performing original songs and arrangements on mandolin, guitar, dobro, foot board, and his latest creation - the stratobassto.
