The Economic Feasibility Study identified the significant sales leakage to neighboring towns. A previous DIRT resident survey indicated that there was a lack of awareness of the everyday items available for sale in Lake City.
By doing business locally, we strengthen our immediate economy and turnover dollars in the community longer. According to national statistics, every dollar spent at a local place of business is usually spent 6 to 15 times before it leaves the community. $1 becomes $6 which becomes $15 in community value.
The Hinsdale County/Lake City Chamber of Commerce and Lake City DIRT are partnering in a Think Local consumer-awareness campaign. Join the discussion!
